ARCHIVED WORK
Simply a selection of older work. I know a piece is successful when I rediscover it in the stacks against the wall and still like it—and am not tempted to change a thing, even many years after the paint has dried. I don’t think an artist’s evolution can be plotted as a graph. In fact, I’m not sure I believe in “evolution” of the worthiness of an artist, not in a linear way. Good work can bubble up at any point during one’s career. Likewise, paintings sometimes don’t work out, regardless of how skilled you have become.
