INTERIOR/EXTERIOR

Here’s a riddle: What do reflections on the surface of a pond, a pair of water birds obscured by murky dawn and an imaginary cherry orchard have in common? Answer: they’re all starting points for art as personal stage set. I paint objects, places and the occasional creature not to “capture” or document them, but instead as a future catalyst of spirit, thought, energy and action. Pure abstraction can work much the same way.
